Retrofitted Buildings Are Tax Exempt

Sites, where energy saving retrofit of the building envelope (facades and windows) is completed, will be exempt from property tax. The tax exempt status will be obtained after receiving an building certificate, Ministry of the Economy and Energy announced. Buildings with lower energy consumption with A class certificate will be exempt from property tax for 10 years, while those with B class certificate � for 5 years.

The ministry said that 739 project for 1,85 million Leva (EUR 900 000) have already been financed under the residential energy efficiency program.
